Who is Hyacinthe?
Why do I write? I write because I breathe.
My professional credits include numerous newspaper columns and magazine articles about writing craft, two short stories published in anthologies (Herotica 7, Whispered Words) and co-authoring over forty police administrative tribunal decisions.
REINVENTION HUSTLE, the first novel in the Jake & Kenora series, is contemporary women’s fiction with elements of romance and mystery.
The plot focuses on forty-two-year-old Kenora Tedesco, who’s been shoved from a comfy suburban life and has to start over: her mother dies, her husband trades her in for a younger model and she gets fired from her safe but boring job. Along the way to becoming a competent private investigator, she’s stalked, kidnapped, and declared dead by a drugstore pharmacist. In the second novel, with a working title The Fifth Man, Kenora stumbles across a shocking family secret. She has to unravel a tangle of clues that take her on an international quest and close an investigation of widespread mortgage fraud.
In 2016, my Reinvention Hustle submission tied for second place in the Romantic Elements category in the Toronto Romance Writers international contest, The Catherine. “Breaking Morning”, a short story, was a finalist in the Canadian Authors Association (Vancouver) contest. A prequel featuring Jake & Kenora called “Bar None”, will be published by ID Press in the fall of 2017.
